The quest for a rest

Once in a while we ask to a member of our community to tell us a story based around a set among a small selection.

This time we asked to Véronique (verolegoland) to share a photo essay featuring the 76427 Harry Potter Buckbeak

The Story

Being a Hypogriff can get exhausting. They can fly long distances. Buckbeak has been flying all night. This sunset mean he needs to rest now.

He is looking for a place to drink. In this large forest, it is not always easy to find your way.

Sometimes there are unexpected encounters. But this water hole is definitely too small for both of us. It’s better to look elsewhere.

Luckily for him, he knows how to reach the river he loves so much.

    And can finally drink quietly

Now we have to find something to eat. And as lucky as he is, what’s better than a big juicy pumpkin!

Ok, maybe not that big! But that will do for today!

Now, with a full or almost full stomach, it is time to find a place to finally rest and sleep for the night.

Nothing better than a good night’s sleep before flying again.

    About the set

    What a beautiful set!

Maybe a little repetitive to build because of the wings and legs but I still enjoyed it. The part that holds the wings to the body is really ingenious! They move in all directions.

I also like that the wings can be folded over his body. It would be nice to have more details on the face and beak.
But I like the way the head moves.

The whole thing can take a lot of poses which is interesting. I especially like it when he’s sitting. It looks like a little dog!

The final product is heavily manufactured. I wasn’t afraid of breaking it when I put it in my backpack to take photos.
    My potterhead is not disappointed!

I would give it a 8,5/10 because of the repetitive building

    Behind the scenes

This photoshoot was challenging for me! I’m used to take pictures of smaller set and minifigures so this was very different! During the flight picture, it was hard to get him in the air alone because he’s heavy. I decided to hold him with my hand and played with the angles of my camera.

I found it easier to shoot outdoors with it to get a larger background.

And then I had the idea of a river so I found one instead of making one!

I also tried something at home after a rainy morning and inside the house to get more photos for my story!
