Photo Review: 76442 Hogwarts Castle

I had the opportunity to receive this set thanks to Brickcentral and LEGO to do a little review from a photographic point of view.

I don’t think I need to introduce the set to you, so I’ll focus on its “photographic” utility.

Although it’s minimalist in terms of pieces, you’ll have with this set a good base at a low cost to have a small Harry Potter decor to photograph scenes from the universe.

With its 3 detachable elements, it’s easy to compose and organize the decor in different ways. I really like the stickers on the walls (like the fireplace) that bring things to life quite easily and will also provide a multitude of possibilities in terms of background for your photos.

The arches, however, are a downside for me. They should be filled with bricks for a simpler use.

As you can see, this is an interesting playset and a good base to use as a background for your photos.
I also tried to present several working angles and I managed to take some photos easily.

I photographed with a LED panel in direct lighting on the stage, allowing me to manage the background that would be visible through the arches since this background would appear darker.

In conclusion, I would give it a 7/10. An interesting subject to start with that I recommend if you want to have material to compose your decors. However, I think that you should rework the walls for more pleasure.
