Photo review: Twilight The Cullen House 21354

Thanks to Brickcentral, I received the Twilight: The Cullen House (21354) set from LEGO for review!

This 2,001-piece set includes seven minifigures and captures one of the most iconic homes in modern cinema.

Tucked deep in the forest, the Cullen House is a striking piece of contemporary architecture — and the home of the vampire family in The Twilight Saga. Now reborn as a LEGO Icons set, it’s not just a fan collectible but a beautifully crafted model in its own right. Let me walk you through its highlights — with photos, of course.

Blending into the Forest

The bold cantilevered volume, dark gray façade, and floor-to-ceiling glass walls blend perfectly into a wooded backdrop. Shooting this model outdoors revealed just how closely it mirrors the actual movie location.

Even the iconic moment where Edward carries Bella up the trees comes to life in adorable LEGO form.

Recreating the Scenes We Love

The real magic of this set lies in the interior. The house splits cleanly into three levels, each packed with cinematic detail:

The ground floor features an entrance hall with Edward’s grand piano.

The second floor offers a cozy living area and kitchen.

On the top floor, you’ll find a striking white sofa and the Cullen family’s collection of graduation caps — a symbolic nod to their immortal high school days.

Want to know how detailed this model is? It even includes a bathroom — because yes, even vampires might need one.

You can also build Jacob in his wolf form, and of course, Bella’s beat-up red pickup — a gift from her dad, Charlie, when she moved to Forks.

From a Photographer’s Perspective

Photographing this set was both fun and frustrating — in the best way.
As a photographer, light is everything. But here’s the problem: vampires hate sunlight. So I had to shoot under overcast skies to keep the mood right (and Edward safe).

Perhaps the best way to display this set is by adding a lighting kit — like the ones offered by @Lightailing. It could bring out the atmosphere of the Cullen House even more, especially at night.

Conclusion

The Cullen House is more than a movie set. It’s a character in itself — and LEGO did an amazing job recreating its structure, proportions, and palette. The architectural form, interior detailing, and smart part usage make it a joy for Twilight fans and LEGO architecture fans alike.

Behind the scene

To capture the proportions of the building with balanced perspective, I used a 135mm telephoto lens and waited for an overcast day — after all, vampires don’t do well in sunlight!

For the more cinematic shots that recreate moments from the film, I switched to an 18mm macro lens by AstrHori, which let me get in close while keeping the minifigures dramatic and full of character.
