How to create Spring pictures in your own home

If you’re like me, and the weather where you are does not feel spring yet, this is how you can bring spring in your pictures. You can create your own happy green place indoors using a few items. Lets start!
As we previously wrote, LEGO released 3 new minifigures in the Build – A- Minifigure section on March 1st. Just on time for our spring photos! We have a cute mushroom girl with a blue bird, a chicken boy costume with a basket, and a a flower lady with a beautiful green dress and a watering can. They are fun minifigures and what I find interesting in them is I can recognize their heads from older sets. The chicken costume boy has the same head as one of the elves from 10339 Santa’s Post Office. The mushroom’s head is actually the same as the cute bunny from the new CMF 28 series. And I recognize the flower lady from the old 60283 Holiday camper van set.
The Setup
Let’s take a closer look at the setup:

For this scene, I arranged everything on the kitchen counters. First I set up the background, and since it’s a long printed fabric, I put everything on top of it. I settled it to the wall using tape. Of course you can use a plain blue cardboard for sky, or a sky poster for your background.
After you placed your background, the grass is added. I used green felt for decoration (fake Easter grass). The next step is adding branches, some artificial plants, a few Lego flowers and the newest addition to my toy photography props – grass tufts. I really like them, because they match the size of the minifigures.
Lighting

I used 3 lights for this scene. One main light on top to lighten up the background a bit. It’s attached to the kitchen cabinet. The second lamp is an Ikea Jansö led light. It gives hard light and it doesn’t spread a lot. The third light is a Godox led light, I used it to fill the shadows from the Ikea led lamp. The Godox led light has a diffuser on it, so it gives softer light. If you don’t have any specialized diffuser, you can also use white baking paper.
Here are the results:

I think this Spring BAM is a perfect match with the Collectible minifigures series 28

I hope you find this article useful and helpful. Spring is the season where everything wakes up from the long winter rest. Trees start to bloom, the grass is getting greener, flowers start to grow again and everything feels a bit more lighter. But in case spring is running late in your country, you can create it on your own ❀
